About the Community Leaders programme

The first West Yorkshire Community Leaders programme was launched earlier this year in a skills development training opportunity.

The West Yorkshire Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP) has offered this Institute of Leadership Management recognised programme to support ongoing community work.

The space will help participants develop their unique voluntary and charity sector leadership style and is being delivered by leadership coaching agency Jones Consulting. 

 

What is the Community Leaders Programme?

The is an awarded ILM recognised programme for local leaders as part of a wider system, to support and develop their unique leadership style and support the their community work.

Who is the programme for?

The programme is designed for community leaders across West Yorkshire who are connected to, working or volunteering in the voluntary and community sector.

What does the programme deliver?

The Community Leaders Programme supports a public health strategy to reducing violence and improving community safety.

Modules include - Leadership Styles, Project Development, Operational Management, Sustainable Finance and Effective Communications.

Where is the programme delivered?

The programme will be delivered via a mix of face to face and online sessions over the course of three months, sessions will take place in the evenings between 5:30pm and 8:30pm.  

Participants will also receive one to one coaching in pre-planned sessions with allocated mentors/coaches.

The Community Leaders Programme is currently closed for applications.

What is the VRP?

  1. West Yorkshire Violence Reduction Partnership - Partners

    Launched in early 2020, the West Yorkshire Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP) brings together specialists from health, police, local government, education, youth justice, prisons, probation, third sector and community organisations to tackle violent crime and the underlying causes of violent crime.
