Community climate grants

We’re supporting communities with up to £50,000 to become cleaner, greener and healthier.

The Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin, and the Combined Authority are working with local authorities to offer grants of up to £50,000 to fund climate friendly schemes.

From creating a bee friendly wildflower meadow, to installing secure bike storage at your community centre – we want to help fund the ideas that will really make a difference to your neighbourhood whilst supporting the regions ambition to being a net zero economy by 2038.

Funding of between £5,000 and £50,000 is available for projects that prioritise:

  • Local, clean, and flexible energy solutions
  • Healthy, affordable and efficient buildings
  • Walking, cycling and public transport
  • Green and climate-ready nature solutions

Who can apply?

  • Voluntary groups
  • Community groups
  • Social enterprises

Funding will be distributed through our five local authorities, taking into account local needs and priorities. Click on the link to your local council for more information:
