A641 Bradford Huddersfield Corridor

The A641 forms part of the Key Route Network between Huddersfield and Bradford and provides an essential link from Brighouse to surrounding centres and the M62 J25 (via the A644). The scheme comprises of a series of interventions proposed for delivery in Brighouse town centre and along the A641 corridor The scheme is to be funded from the West Yorkshire plus Transport Fund. (WY+TF)

Carrying more than 20,000 vehicles a day, the route has significant traffic congestion issues in a number of locations.

Reducing journey times along the route will increase economic investment in the area by unlocking land for employment and housing growth, as well as improving conditions for all users. This will include increasing the use of sustainable transport and improving facilities for public transport.

The project will be delivered in cooperation with the investment projects managed by both Kirklees Council and Bradford Council.
