York Central Access and Station Access Improvements

This programme aims to facilitate development at York Central, realising economic and housing growth at scale, and to increase and improve the capacity, accessibility, safety and environment of the York Railway Station.

The programme will provide access into the York Central development site and improvements to York Railway station:

  1. Provision of all mode access to the development site to the rear (north west) of York railway station to realise its development potential.
  2. Provide a fully compliant access to the western side of the station, linking the station to the adjacent new development.
  3. The provision of accessibility improvements to the rail station itself to i) improve the layout, configuration and ease of access for all modes of traffic to the front (east) of the railway station.
