Corridor Improvement Programme Phase 1 Bradford A6177 ORR Great Horton Road

Bradford is identified as a spatial priority area in the SEP. Improved links to the economic opportunities available in Bradford from the North and West of the district will connect people to higher value jobs, whilst improvements to air quality through reduced congestion will deliver a better environment.

This scheme will improve journey time reliability on the A6177 Outer Ring Road and A647 Great Horton Road, improving productivity and attracting new investment. This will also facilitate future housing growth to support the delivery of 8,000 new residences by 2030.

The A647 is used by an average of 14,976 vehicles per day with frequent bus services to Halifax and Shipley. These improvements will improve these services by reducing journey times.
