The creative sector in Leeds City Region is significant and fast developing. Last year, Channel 4 announced that Leeds City Region would be the location for a new national headquarters and the region is already home to global brands including Sky and DAZN. Our region’s universities, colleges and schools are also investing to boost supply of the next generation of creative talent.

In order to capitalise on this momentum we are looking to appoint a Creative Sector Opportunity Programme Manager to operate a major programme of activity aimed at supporting creative talent and businesses across our region.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority is recruiting for a highly motivated professional to join our Economic Services Team. You will play a key role in shaping, leading and project managing the delivery of a range of new schemes and initiatives targeted at boosting the region’s creative sector. In delivering this activity you will accelerate the growth and development of the sector, create incredible opportunities for our region’s diverse talent, and support the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s strategy to generate inclusive growth.

In line with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s values, you will:

  • Have experience working in the creative and digital sector and a strong understanding of skills, or business support initiatives
  • Possess a strong understanding of the challenges facing businesses and workforce development in this sector
  • Be confident and able to communicate with senior stakeholders and decision makers
  • Be passionate and proactive, and have the ability to inspire and motivate cross sector teams to deliver to a high standard
  • Be flexible and adaptable and capable of leading multifaceted activity and managing delivery contracts
  • Be creative in your approach and able to find new solutions to complex problems
  • Have an eye for detail and a strongly analytical approach to work

The role will suit a strong, creative project manager with experience of working in a complex partnership environment.

This is a permanent post, with funding for this role in place for three years. After this period the post will be subject to the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Management of Change process.
