Are you passionate about expanding the creative and digital industries in Leeds City Region? Do you enjoy working with businesses?

The creative sector in Leeds City Region is significant and fast developing. Last year, Channel 4 announced that Leeds City Region would be the location for a new national headquarters and the region is already home to global brands including Sky and DAZN.

In order to capitalise on this momentum we are looking to appoint a Business Development Executive to join our highly successful Trade and Investment team. You will support the continued growth of the creative and digital sector across Leeds City Region by generating and handling new inward investment enquiries.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority is recruiting for a highly motivated professional to join our Trade and Investment team. You will play a key role in supporting the development of the creative and digital sector in our region, working with businesses to understand and assist their plans for growth. In delivering this activity you will attract new businesses to locate in the region, provide funding support to growing creative and digital companies, and raise the international profile of Leeds City Region’s digital ecosystem.

In line with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s values, you will:

  • Have experience working in the creative sector, ideally TV, media and screen industries
  • Have an understanding of the creative and digital sector, challenges facing the industry and a strong understanding of skills and business support initiatives
  • Be a self-starter with the ability to work on varied and complex projects
  • Be passionate, proactive, and able to drive projects forward from inception to completion
  • Possess knowledge of Leeds City Region’s strengths as a creative and digital cluster, and of the drivers for business growth
  • Be flexible and adaptable and able to work with initiative to achieve results
  • Have an eye for detail and a strongly analytical approach to work
  • Be confident and able to communicate with senior business leaders and stakeholders

The role will suit an individual with experience of working with businesses or in a creative or digital sector organisation.

This is a permanent post, with funding in place for this role for two years. After this period the post will be subject to the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Management of Change process.
