West Yorkshire Combined Authority is seeking an experienced Head of Human Resources to pro-actively lead, mentor and develop the HR team to deliver a high quality customer focused HR service.

Reporting to the Director, Resources the post holder will take a key role in being the strategic HR Lead who will champion and lead an efficient and high quality HR service to the organisation. The postholder will provide strategic professional HR advice and guidance to the Leadership Team and other senior managers, with their team supporting this in a business partnering model. They will champion WYCA’s culture, values and behaviours, embedding them through every process and policy.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate confidence in providing strategic direction and evidence of how HR can drive organisational change. You will be a visible and ardent leader, promoting partnership working across the organisation as well as influencing, developing and motivating your team to deliver corporate objectives.

You must be educated to a relevant Master Degree level, with evidence of continuing professional management training with a CIPD qualification at MCIPD or FCIPD level.

You will have extensive practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role, including championing a business partnering model and developing an organisation through proactive and insightful HR guidance and direction.
