Financial Accountant Post Ref. R/F2

Grade L SP1-4 £38,443 - £44,512 per annum. Please note it is WYCA policy to recruit at SP1 for all appointments. Closing date 23rd July 2017. Interviews will be held on 31st July 2017. Based in Leeds City Centre

 We are seeking a qualified Accountant to work within our Finance Department.  Reporting to the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will lead the Financial Accounting Team, producing annual accounts on a timely basis and ensuring the organisation's financial systems are robust and support the delivery of the CA's objectives.

The successful candidate will be a visible and enthusiastic Manager, providing technical support to the Finance Teams covering nominal ledger, debtors, creditors, cash and banking and payroll.  The post holder will be able to review and manage grants and budgets, and have extensive experience of producing statutory Local Authority financial accounts.  They will work closely with the Management Accountant and Corporate Planning and Performance Manager to ensure that strong financial controls are in place as well as systems that enable clearer accountability and responsibility and that supports business and resource planning.  

Demonstrable experience of prioritising, planning and organising workloads, as well as experience of managing and championing change successfully are essential, as is an appropriate accountancy qualification (e.g., CIPFA) and relevant experience.
