Chance to have a say on planned bus stop improvements across Leeds’ Cottingley estate
Proposals include providing new bus shelters and real-time travel information at each stop

A drop-in event on Tuesday 10 March will be an opportunity for people to have their say about a plan to improve stops and provide better information for bus users on Leeds’ Cottingley Estate.
Taking place between 3.30pm and 6.30pm at Cottingley Primary Academy, the drop-in will be a chance for local people to see the plans. The proposals include providing new bus shelters and real-time travel information at each stop as well as creating better pedestrian crossing opportunities near bus stops and improved loading opportunities for businesses in the centre of the Estate.
Details of the consultation, which lasts until Monday 23 March, can be found on line at where there people can also leave feedback.
Cllr Kim Groves, Chair of the West Yorkshire’s Combined Authority Transport Committee and its Bus Alliance said: “People tell us they want buses to be easier and more convenient to use and they want better information about their journeys and these plans are designed to do just that for people across the Cottingley Estate.
“Investing through Connecting Leeds in infrastructure improvements like this and the large-scale schemes to improve bus travel through the city centre will help increase the number of people using buses and reducing costly and polluting congestion.
I would urge everyone affected to have a look at these plans and have their say on them.”
This scheme in Cottingley is part of the £270 million Connecting Leeds programme, which aims to improve all aspects of transport and travel in the city and connect people to the wider Leeds City Region. Connecting Leeds will see unprecedented £270 million invested in the city’s transport network.
