"We need a plan to save our economy, protect our households and rescue our public services, and the Chancellor failed to deliver that today.
"The cost of living crisis means communities in West Yorkshire head into a winter of pain where the poorest will have to choose between eating and heating their homes. This is appalling for the sixth biggest economy in the world.
"For months we have been calling for an increase to Universal Credit, alongside a Windfall Tax on the obscene profits being made by North Sea oil and gas companies during the energy crisis.
"Yet today, we got no certainty on how the remaining £28 billion blackhole in the public finances will be plugged, nor any immediate additional support for the most vulnerable in our society, and the threat of swingeing spending cuts looms over our public services."
